Collections of Bible verses such as these are commonly referred to as promise boxes. A Christian adherent would draw, read, and contemplate one verse each day.
Title devised by cataloger.
Set of approximately 150 Bible verses, printed on slips that have been rolled and inserted in a honeycomb pattern into a shallow box. Also included is a pair of simple metal tweezers, for procuring the printed slips. The box, covered in patterned paper of pink and gold, is pyramidal in shape, measuring 9 x 14 cm at top. The box lid is topped with a pink ribbon. The maker is identified on a gold label affixed to the underside of the box: "Manufactured in Great Britain by Pickering & Inglis Ltd."
