Gallery Label:
William H. Craft was an enamel painter and decorator employed at the Battersea enamel works in London. He was prolific, and exhibited numerous enamels at the Royal Academy in the years 1774-81, producing also painted portraits in enamel, clock faces, landscapes, and history subjects. Stubbs may have met Craft through Josiah Wedgwood, for whom both artists worked. Gallery label for installation of YCBA collection, 2005
