This assembled collection of mounted black and white photographic reproductions, located within the Reference Library of the Yale Center for British Art, covers English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish paintings, drawings and sculpture spanning the years 1500-1945 with a special focus on holdings both public and private in the United States, Canada and Australia. A searchable database containing textual descriptions and subject headings of approximately 82,000 of the images is available in the Reference Library. The collection represents the work of many artists. Those for whom the holdings are particularly strong include: William Blake, Edward Burne-Jones, John Constable, William Hogarth, Inigo Jones (drawings), Thomas Lawrence, George Morland, Henry Raeburn, Joshua Reynolds, George Romney, Thomas Rowlandson, and Joseph Mallord William Turner.
