Notes:
"William Adlington's translation of the XI Bookes of the Golden Asse was first published in 1566. From the 1639 reprint, in which the spelling only is slightly and comfortably modified, the present text is exactly reproduced. The borders are those designed by Geofroy Tory circa 1524. They are here enlarged a little. 625 copies of this edition have been printed and made in England by the Nonesuch Press in Sepember, 1923, and the type has been distributed."--Colophon.
