Notes:
The series of charts, showing the daily engagements between the English and Spanish fleets and the subsequent destruction of the Armada, were originally drawn in 1588 by Robert Adams (cf. Moreland). The tapestries were designed by Hendrick Cornelisz Vroom and made by Francis Spiering in about 1589 for Lord Howard of Effigham. Later sold to James I, they were hung in the House of Lords from 1616 until their destruction in the fire of 1834.

Engravings by John Pine; after Clement Lempriere and Hubert Francois Gravelot.

Two double maps "engraved and published by J. Pine, March 25, 1740," inserted.

Printed by William Bowyer. His records show two printings, of 400 and 250 copies respectively, as well as two printings of the list of subscribers.
