The top of the leaf is also annotated with the title of the work, probably by the monastery's librarian, Jakob Louber. From a collection of fifteenth- and sixteenth-century printed leaves compiled by Frederick Werther, with his enumeration stamped in ink.The bookplate depicts an angel bearing a shield with the crest of Hilprand (or Hildebrand) Brandenburg of Biberach. Brandenburg donated his library to the Carthusian monastery at Buxheim circa 1480. The bookplate is usually accompanied by a manuscript annotation by Brandenburg identifying each donation.
