Housed in a green paper-covered slipcase, with embossed gold border.

Each of the 22 cards includes a watercolor drawing at top and text written in black ink at bottom (rectos only). The first reads: “Botany is a science which treats of vegetables & plants. Divided into classes, orders, genera, species, & varieties.” The cards summarize botanical details of plants and flowers and their components, for example: "The pistil consists of three parts, 1 The Germen. 2 The Style. 3 The Stigma.” Other cards outline the Linnaean system of taxonomy, or define leaf shapes, fruit stalks, etc.
