Three states of the 1st issue of v. 1 exist. The 1st state has a short swelled rule above publication date on t.p.; p. 4, line 3 (leaf B2v) erroneously reads "partaking his posterity" (=prosperity); and the headline on p. 238 (leaf Q8v) erroneously reads "MILTON" for "BUTLER." The 2nd state has a short ornamental dotted rule above date and cancellations for leaves B2 and Q8 correcting readings. The 3rd state has a short ornamental dotted rule above date and corrected readings on leaves B2v and Q8, which are intergal.
