A catalogue of the capital, well-known, and truly valuable collection of antique statues, bustos, Ægyptian, and other vases, bas-reliefs, &c. : (including a few capital pictures reserved from the late valuable collection), the property of a Noble Earl, deceased : (not less distinguished for his exquisite taste and judgement in the Fine Arts, than for his liberality in collecting) : this valuable assemblage, a great part of which was formed during his travels and residence in Italy, comprises : a torso of a Venus, of exquisite antique sculpture, from the celebrated collection of Baron Storch : a curious statue of the Diana of Ephesus, (mentioned by Montfaucon) : a capital group of Pan and Apollo, size of life : a curious and beautiful, cumbent figure of a sleeping hermaphrodite : an elegant copy of the Apollo of the Belvidere, and the Venus de Medicis, by Mr. Wilton : an Ægyptian vase of Porphyry : a ditto of granite, from the Bath of Augustus : a mummy, in fine preservation : and numerous rare and curious articles : which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, at Roehampton, on Tuesday, April the 7th, 1801, at twelve o'clock : may be viewed ten days preceding the sale, with tickets only, to had of Mr. Christie, in Pall Mall.
