Miss Metz may be Sophia Metz who made her appearance at the Royal Academy exhibition of 1791 as "S. Metz". The address given in the R.A. catalogue is the same address as that given for the artist Conrad Martin Metz (1749-1827). Her relationship to Conrad Metz is not known but she could have been another sister or possibly a daughter.
