The Convent of the Holy Child Jesus was established in 1863 by Cornelia Connelly, founder of the Society of the Holy Child, an order of nuns inspired by the Jesuits and dedicated to teaching young women.

Bound in green half roan and green cloth; the initials "K.T." stamped in gilt on front cover.

Manuscript atlas with 29 maps of countries and regions of the world. The maps are very neatly drawn and delicately colored. The title page identifies the atlas as the work of Katherine Tablot, a pupil at the Convent of the Holy Child Jesus in St. Leonards on Sea.
