"In 1766 the Darlys moved to a second commercial premises, at 39 Strand, the shop depicted in The Macaroni Print Shop (1772). It continued to supply not only caricature and ornament, but a range of equipment for the amateur artist and decorator--'materials of every kind used in the Polite Arts of Drawing, Etching, &c with all Sorts of Drawing books for young Ladies and Gentlemen' (Public Advertiser, 1 Jan 1779), borders and decorations for print rooms and screens, as well as 'Ladies Stencils for painting Silks, Linens, Paper, &c, by Mary Darly' (ibid., 13 June 1769).
