"Janet Boulton's interest in gardens over the past thirty years has been expressed both as garden artist, in watercolour, and as artist-gardener, in the creation of her distinctive garden in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. As a painter, she has focussed particularly on long-term studies, from English examples, to Italy, where she painted extensively at the Villa La Pietra; as unofficial artist-in-residence at Ian Hamilton Finlay's Little Sparta; and recently as visiting artist at Cow Mead Allotments in Oxford. Her own garden--the location for her studio, where she works as a painter of still-life--has evolved into a symbiosis of plants and poetic objects."--Website of Uniformbooks.
