Inscribed on verso in pen and brown ink over graphite, center: "Outward entrance to the Peake Cavern I at Castleton I showing the Cottage of the 3 old women, where I neither rain or Sun ever come - and the I Packthread Spinners works within the cave I far to right below in darkness lies that I small entrance into the great caverns that I extend near half a mile under the limestone I Rock I GC."; in graphite on verso, right: "Box by waggon - of Jos Heblesson of I Manchester - to be left at I Barmaclough the brown Horse near I Chapel in Fells park I To be forwarded to Mr. Barbor of the Shakespear."
