Notes:
[1] As per a label on the back of the lining canvas (though not included in his sale June 23, 1890)
[2] Bashall was the business partner of William Boardman at the Farington Cotton Mill. Agnew bought from his estate in May 1871, but the present painting does not appear in their stock book.
[3] The painting (no.62) was included in the 1937 centenary memorial exhibition of John Constable at the Wildenstein Gallery, London (see label on the back of the painting).
