Peltrio from a Drawing taken on teh Spot. | He ceas'd, and on the lovely pair | His choisest blessings laid | While they with thanks & pitying tears | His mournful tale repaid."; lettered, lower center: " LONDON: Published 4th, August 1787, by Rt. Pollard, No.15 Braynes Row, Spa Fields. | The HERMITAGE of WARKWORTH. | The Figures from Dr. PIERCY'S celebrated Northumberland Ballad. | NB: The above Relique of antiquity belongs to HIs Grace the Duke of Northumberland __The Chapel, Sacristy & c. hollowed in the solid Rock, are 18 feet long, 7 feet in width & height__in the adjoining Cliff is cut a winding Stair-case, wihich leads to the Hermits Orchard at the top. the Building below was his dwelling, but has been long in ruins."
