BEIN 2009 +231: Armorial bookplate of the Earls of Macclesfield: South Library, 205.G.20 [number in ms.]. Contains the printed key of symbols, bound in following t.p., signed on recto "Joseph Furttenbach," docketed on verso "Erclerung der Caracteres In Joseph Furttenbachs Bixenmaistery Buech," and stamped in blind with the Macclesfield coat of arms.
BEIN 2009 +231: Accompanied by 22 small slips of paper with ms. notes (in French) and drawings, laid in at various places. The slips have been numbered by the cataloger (2009 +231 1, 2009 +231 2, etc.) and are laid in as follows: 1: betw. p. 10 and 11 (leaves B1 and B2); 2: betw. p. [1], second count (leaf N6) and added engraved t.p. preceding ill.; 3: within plate 5; 4: within plate 10; 5: within plate 11; 6: within plate 19; 7: within plate 20; 8: within plate 22; 9: within plate 25; 10: within plate 28; 11: within plate 29; 12: within plate 30; 13: within plate 31; 14: within plate 32; 15: within plate 33; 16: within plate 34; 17: within plate 36; 18: within plate 38; 19: within plate 40; 20: within plate 42; 21: within plate 42; 22: within plate 43.

Each numbered plate is printed on a folded leaf bound in the middle.

Brown University copy includes, bound following the title leaf, a printed leaf (ca. 28 x 19 cm.), at one time folded, containing a key to the symbols used by Furttenbach in his formulae; signed at lower right "Joseph Furttenbach" (author's autograph?); verso docketed "Erclerung der Caracteres In Joseph Furttenbachs Bixenmaistery Buech", with small wax seal stamped with armorial signet.

BAC: British Art Center copy is bound with three other titles by Furttenbach: Architectura civilis (1628), Architectura navalis (1629), and Architectura militaris (1630). The volume bound in contemporary blind-stamped pig skin. The title page of Architectura civilis has autograph of "Jacobus Fischerus" and ink stamp of "[illegible] Gimbel, Baden-Baden."
