Notes:
Gilt tooled tree calf binding.
An early 19th century sketchbook containing amateur studies of rural figures, sheep, dogs, a man on horseback, a cottage, and several outline sketches of scenery. The sketches are in graphite or pen and black ink, several with gray wash. The figures are reminiscent of William Pyne's "Groups of Figures for Decorating Landscape" of 1798. Paper watermarked 1809.
