Notes:
The racecourse at Maze, near Lisburn, County Down, has been active since the 18th century on land donated by Arthur Hill, 1st Marquess of Downshire.
The edge of the box is engraved with a design of birds and animals and initials NK picked out in black and gilt. Inside the box are a green velvet cushion and a circular ivory token. The token is engraved on one side with a design of race-horses and motto "Metam avide petunt" picked out in black, and on the other with inscription "Stand House Maze No 366 Peter McGouran Esqr. for life." Pierced at top.
