'The day my father died I felt no warmth/But walked in the shadow of the mid-day sun.' Five flowers for My Father consists of five mezzotints of wild flowers juxtaposed with objects significant in his life, and associated prose pieces and poems. The title page shows a tin mug holding five roses. The image's key plate, a miner's lamp and poppies, is printed before the second plate, the poppy heads printed in red"--Patkus.
