Issued in six parts, the first in September, 1743 (see Harris). Each part included a portion of "A general treatise ..." and a portion of "Mensuration of superficies ...," two works with separate title page, pagination, and register.
The "Mensuration ..." includes 52 pages of tables; pages1-48 are engraved, pages 49-52 are letterpress.

BAC Folio A 2022 11: Imperfect: lacks parts 4 and 6 ("A general treatise ..." pages 33-40 and 49-56; "Mensuration ..." pages 45-52). Bound in contemporary cream boards, with three of the original part-wrappers bound in. Apparently from the library of Sir Thomas Phillips, with his shelf mark inside the front cover.
