Imprint from colophon, which reads: Venetiis impressum per ... Paganinum de Paganinis de Brixia ... Anno redemptionis nostre M.D. VIIII. Klen. Iunii. Leonardo Lauretano Ve. rem. pu. zubernante. pontificatus Iulii. II. anno VI. Colophon also at end of "Pars prima" with slight variations.
"Libellus in tres partiales tractatus diuisus ..." ([26] leaves (2nd count)) is translated from the Latin of Piero della Francesca. The illustrations include a series of geometric solids after designs by Leonardo da Vinci. Cf. Mortimer.
Woodcuts: large and small white-on-black foliated or strapwork initials; text extensively illustrated with geometrical and architectural diagrams, and human faces divided according to perfect proportions; large black woodcut capitals of the roman alphabet, designed by Leonardo; large geometrical drawings of the regular solid bodies.
Text printed in small roman type.
The title page is found in two states: integral t.p. (ornamental initial in black) or cancel t.p. (ornamental initial in red).
Signatures: A⁶ B-D⁸ E¹⁰ (E10 blank), a-b⁸ c¹⁰, [AA-KK]⁸.
Author (in dedication) names Leonardo da Vinci as the artist of drawings on the final 59 leaves.
Leaf 25 of first foliation misprinted 17; leaves 14, 16-26 of second foliation numbered 15, 17-27.
Lacks plates listed in table as LX-LXI as usual. Plate LIX numbered LXI. Missing illustrations possibly omitted by publisher with the obfuscating numbering. Cf. Mortimer and Bertieri.

First and only edition of one of the key works for studying the interplay of mathematics, art, architectural theory and typography during the Renaissance, by the mathematician Luca Pacioli, with illustrations after Leonardo da Vinci.
