Bound in contemporary gilt morocco.
The primary focus is Rome and its antiquities, with shorter passages concerning other areas in Italy, France, and Switzerland. Over half of the volume is devoted to prints (pasted in) or Palmer's hand-drawn plans of Roman architecture and antiquities. Many of the prints are by Francesco Morelli (François Morel) or Pietro Ruga. On pages of text, Palmer uses the margins to record notable dates, places, subject matter, or references to published works. The last page is signed: Dorney Court, Febry. 14th, 1821. A fair copy.
