The box includes original brass hinges and lock, with key. The third (bottom) section of the interior bears the printed label of Reeves & Sons, at 113 Cheapside, London, E.C. The maker's name and address also appears on the underside of the box lid.
The box is divided into three sections. The top section includes 12 slots for paint blocks. The blocks show moderate usage. A compartment underneath this tray includes 15 drawing implements, including brushes and pencils.
The middle section includes a removable mixing tray and glass water pot.
The narrow bottom row is empty.
Includes one drawer containing an additional large mixing tray.
