500 copies of v. 1 and v. 2, pt. 1 printed in 1815 and 1819. 300 copies of the former and 470 of the latter were destroyed by fire in 1819. In 1832, 200 copies of the rare v. 2, pt. 1, ed. by E. Cartwright, were reprinted.
In 1819 several cancels and additions were made in v. 1 as follows: 5 sheets, p. cxlv-clxviii, were issued to replace p. cxlv-clxvi (in L. C. copy the canceled leaves have been retained and follow substituted matter); cancels at p. 177-8 and 227-8; additions and corrections, 18 p.; map of the rape of Chichester and port. of John Buckner added.

BAC: British Art Center copy is 1st edition without cancels or additions. Bound in publisher's printed paper-covered boards, with green cloth spines bearing leather title labels. Inscribed: "F.G. [?] Howard, May 1822 [?], from Henry Howard of Colby [?] Esq. as executor to the late Duke of Norfolk." Also with Howard's armorial bookplate, bearing his autograph. - Subject Terms:
