Album of 19th century fabric samples, each with machine-embroidered patterns, compiled by an unidentified merchant, probably French. Some of the fabric samples have borders of machine-made lace. Samples vary in size, from approximately 5 x 5 cm to approximately 20 x 10 cm. Samples are affixed to flaxen (?) leaves of the album, rectos and versos, with approximately 25 samples per page. Samples are numbered in black ink. Aside from numbering, the volume lacks text.
