- A catalogue of a most elegant and superb collection of pictures : imported by John Bertels of Brussels, and purchased out of the best cabinets abroad, such as De Heer Lubeling, Fiseau, Vander Dussen, and Vandervelde of Amsterdam, and lately out of that celebrated cabinet of Monsieur le Comte de Barre, of Paris : in which collection will be found the works of Ann. Carracci, P. Veronese, P. Da Cartona, C. Dolci, F. Laura, Viviani, G. Ochiali, F. Mola, B. Morillio, F. Bolognese, Poussin, Bourdon, Le Nain, Vernett, P.P. Rubens, A. Vandyck, Jordans, D. Teniers, D. Ryckaert, Tilbourgh, Du Chatel, Fyt, P. Neef, D. Van Dellen, Rembrandt, Weenix, Hondekooter, C. Du Jardin, M. Van Osterwyck, Cuyp, Ruysdell, Devlieg, Moucheron, Wynants : among many others are three remarkable fine pictures : the Homage paid to the brazen serpent, by S. Bourdon, which measures fourteen feet in length, and ten in height, and is well known by the engraving after it : the Descent from the cross, by A. Carracci, after that famous picture of D. Da Valterra : and an old man's head in the best manner and style of Rembrandt ... : which will be sold by auction, by Mr. W. Walsh, at his room, opposite Mr. Almack's, King-Street, St. James's-Square, on Friday, April 7th, 1775, and the following day : to be viewed on Wednesday and Thursday preceding the sale.
