Album of 94 cut-paper flower collages, in the manner of Mary Delany's cut-paper "mosaicks." Each collage consists of pieces of paper that have been painted and cut to resembled the various parts of common plants. Compositions are arranged in a lifelike manner, and the whole effect resembles the popular dried flower albums of the period. The collages are affixed to pages of varied colors (pink, yellow, blue, etc.).
All collages are captioned in black ink, with the common name of the plant (or plants) depicted, the date (between 1842 and 1849) and the artist's initials. Most are initialed "C.P.A.F.", some "C.P.F." Many collages have additional quotations referring to the " language of flowers" popular in Victorian times (e.g., "Lilac" = "First emotion of love," "Belladonna" = "Fascination" etc.)
