This publication sets out to begin new dialogues between Japan and the UK, introducing what the Institute is tentatively calling 'modern Japanese sculpture'. The selection of sculptures focuses on representations of nature. Nine small scale sculptures made between 1912 and 1941 were selected to travel to Leeds after which, the exhibition travels to the galleries of Musashino Art University. - Subject Terms:
