"This book is based on a walk made along the River Medway between Penshurst and Fordcombe, England, in 1995. The Ironside Line was a chain of 'pillboxes', and other defences along the river, which were built to hamper a Nazi invasion of Britain in World War 2. The book consists of printed text and a fold-out at the end with hand-painted bird silhouettes"--Artist's website.
