The wood engravings is signed "Hare" (i.e. Thomas Matthews Hare?).
Advertisement for a device designed to hold a shoe off the ground, freeing both hands for cleaning and polishing. The illustration on the front depicts a young man in the act of cleaning a boot held by the machine. The reverse includes direction for using the machine.
