Bound in contemporary marbled wrappers, with paper label on front cover.
Oblong sketchbook containing four drawings by Jane Byron, whose name (together with the date "January 30th, 1801") is inscribed on the front cover. The drawings depict a girl with a spaniel, a hay cart and farm workers, a rural cottage, and an archer. All four are executed in pen and black ink, with gray wash. Each is dated on the verso. All demonstrate careful execution, if not sophisticated technique. They are presumably the work of younger hand (the first drawing may be a self-portrait.). A fifth page has a decorative watercolor head-piece composed of feathers and shells. The remaining pages in the album are blank.
