The name "Henry W. Branwhite" is embossed between the name "Catharine Muriel" and the date "1824" on the front cover. The name appears to have previously been stamped in gilt as well, but was erased and crossed out with graphite.
While the front cover is marked 1824 and one drawing that resembles overlapping letterforms is dated 1817, the paper is watermarked 1825. The majority of the entries are dated, with the latest dated entry from 1840.
The volume includes a graphite drawing of a man in profile, signed with the initials "N.C.B" which possibly refer to the artist Nathan Cooper Branwhite, and a graphite drawing of a port scene, signed "Nathan Branwhite Jun., June 21st 1827."
Embossed bookplate on the inside of the front cover. A yellow and red crest with a blue boar on top is drawn in the center of the bookplate with "Firmum in vita nihil" written in a blue banner below.
Bound in contemporary gilt-stamped red morocco, with gilt edges and marbled endsheets.
