Scope and Content:
Telling Mr. Smith that Mr. Haslam, apothecary at Bethle Hospital, will allow him to visit the patients there 'in a private manner' so he can draw them. The visit '...will give you a thorough knowledge of character, and enable you to give a justness to the sketches you may draw...be sure you pocket your pencil...The Imperial King [an inmate] is a fine study, and will make an excellent picture...'. Sunday.
